From New Orleans
My dear and brave friend Joon is now in New Orleans doing his part to help those in dire need. Here is a message I received from him:
“I arrived here in New Orleans for the Emergency Response a few days ago. The destruction here is the most terrible thing I have ever seen. I am here working and assisting in the Search and Rescue. I am working with a good group of fire fighter Urban Seach and Rescue from Colorado. We travel in large convoys and are always acompanied now by armed personells. We are staying in a military compound. the helicopters are taking off and landing 24 hours are day, while we are sleeping on the floor of our com trailer. although the conditions that we are working in are not pleasent we know that we are blessed. It is hard to go in to the water knowing that we cant help everyone or that they might not even accept the help that we are providing, but we march on.”- Joon Choi
