So Busy

What good are excuses anyhow? I have been super busy as of late and as a result there has been little activity here on the site. My work is super stimulating spanning interface design for home appliances (unfortunately I am unable to elaborate further), information architecture development, user research/contextual inquiry involving some travel, and persona development. Each of the projects is super interesting and the variety keeps me on my toes.

My lovely wife and design work have been monumental in helping me through the recent loss of my father. The family is healing and my mother continues to inspire me with her bravery and conviction to get her life together and care for her family. On this note my mother is due to visit here in Pittsburgh for the first time tomorrow which I very much look forward to. I wish only the weather would comply as it has snowed off and on over the past few days making it difficult to get around town.

Oh and this month marks my two year anniversary at MAYA. It really is hard to believe. Time flies when you are having fun, no? It has been quite an adventure. I have learned an incredible amount, gained experience to carry me through my career wherever it may lead, worked with amazing designers and clients, and made dear friends. What more could I ask for in employment? MAYA is indeed a gem.

If ever I get some time there are a couple of pet projects I and some others are thinking about/working on. A couple of my personal projects are to:

  • build a modern-styled digital cuckoo clock powered by kinetic energy (weights).
  • record music with my new usb/guitar/mic interface
  • redesign this site (I hate the current layout and want to do something different with regard to content)I will share progress with each of the above here on this site as I am further along. Otherwise, good for you to visit and do share what you are up to via the comments. Cheers.

  1. I’m sorry to hear about your father. I cannot imagine what that would be like.
